After the success of MIFF 2017's overnight marathon at The Astor, this year we're embracing the iconic Melbourne venue with three exclusive special events.
On Sunday 5 August, we'll warm things up with a very special screening of the restored $K print of Tampopo – "the greatest of all food films (Fandor). The ticket price includes a one-of-a-kind bowl of vegetarian ramen designed especially for the occasion by Tokyo Tina, the always fun and forward-thinking Japanese locals just down the road from The Astor.
The marathon returns, on Friday 10 August, as we let loose with a 12-hour non-stop Cage-a-Thon, celebrating the self-described "Nouveau Shamanic" glory of the always incomparable Nicolas Cage.
And on Friday 17 August, Prince’s rare 1987 concert film Sign o' the Times returns to the big screen so don your purplest paisley threads and join Fee B-Squared for a Prince dance party in the foyer afterwards.
All tickets are now on sale and you can grab your print program guide from our venues and at the MIFF Box Office, hosted by ACMI: Level 1, Federation Square.
