“Humanely wrought.” - Eye Weekly

Snow takes place amid the ruins and the anguish that followed the Serbo-Bosnian conflict. An isolated Bosnian village of mostly women and children must continue their lives in the absence of their husbands and fathers. The villagers worship, they wait and they work hard to keep their loved ones' memories alive and their community together.

Director Aida Begić looks at the camaraderie and the conflicts that these women face and weaves them into a complex and delicate story.

To survive, they must do business with their former enemies or abandon their cherished village.

Snow was awarded the Critics' Week Grand Prize at last year's Cannes film festival.
