Could you ever forgive the people who slaughtered your family? When hundreds of thousands of Rwandan Hutus were incited to wipe out the country's Tutsi minority, friend turned on lifelong friend, neighbour on neighbour; with improvised weapons and machetes the unspeakable massacre of nearly one million people occurred. In 2001, the government put in place the Gacaca Tribunals - open-air hearings allowing murderers to apologise or have their say to victims with the intent of rebuilding the nation.
Award-winning documentarian Anne Aghion returns with another film in her Gacaca series, chronicling the ongoing struggle to reunite the people of Rwanda after the systematic genocide of the Tutsi community in 1994.
