One rainy night on a coast road near the city of Mar del Plata, a man and a woman die in a car accident. The man was a widower, a powerful industrialist. The woman was married, unknown, a nurse by profession. Did a casual adventure bring them together or was it an illict relationship? Whatever it was, the fatal accident changes the life of another man, the woman's husband . . .
A Spanish -Argintine co-production, Los Inocentes received the first prize awarded by Argentina for her national films. Each country is represented by the two leading players, Paloma Valdes from Spain and Alfredo Aleon from Argentina. The film was made by one of Spain's most distinguished directors, Juan Bardem, best known for Meurte du un Ciclista and Calle Mayor. In Los Inocentes he has produced a film in his particular style, and has emphasised that social differences cannot transcend human emotions.
