Days of Waiting

When 110,000 Japanese people and Americans of Japanese origin were interned in the United States in 1942, painter Estelle Peck Ishigo decided to follow her husband. She recorded with great sensitivity through her painting the great suffering of these people at the hands of their own countrymen, a soul destroying ordeal for many, including her husband. The film is a testimony to her love for her husband and her gradual acceptance as a Japanese by her fellow internees. (JS)
