Over one hot Australian Christmas, Susan discovers her breast cancer has spread, and one by one her daughters return to be by her side. Her ‘little sparrows' - Nina, Anna and Christine - each have their own place in the nest, under the care and love of their worldly mother. Each has her own story to confront.
Filmmaker Yu-Hsiu Camille Chen follows each of these women - with their faults, passions and love - as they struggle to define themselves. Through all the confusion, pain and unfinished business shines the spark of hope.
