The National Film and Sound Archive presents Patineur Grotesque, Australia's earliest surviving film - screened for the first time in 2010.

Shot in 1896 in an unknown Melbourne location, this film reveals the history of frères Lumière representative Marius Sestier and his Australian works. Patineur Grotesque will be shown with a program of original Lumière films as well as Sestier's 1896 Melbourne Cup films.

Presented by Steve Barker with piano accompaniment by John Shortis.
