Those obscurist avant rockers The Residents have recently been extending their pioneering work in music video in their CD- ROM's.

Freak Show takes the form of a trip through the Freak show tent. Tex the Barker guides you to the freaks on display which include Harry the Head, Herman the Human Mole, Wanda the Worm Woman and The Residents themselves. You can sneak behind the tents and get into the freaks trailers poke around in their possessions and learn their stories through videos and comic strips.

Bad Day on the Midway was produced as a kind of sequel to Freak Show. Like Freak Show it also features the richly colourful animation of Jim Ludtke as well as real life actors collaged with the animated characters Bad Day on the Midway builds on the story telling possibilities explored in Freak Show It is essentially a goal orientated game but one that hinges on the goals and actions of a number of bizarre characters whose roles the player takes on while exploring the fantastical Midway fun fair. If you get to the end having explored such attractions as the Kill a Commie Shooting Gallery or the Tortures Top Ten without being killed by a psychotic killer you could reach one of the many endings ( happily or otherwise).
