“Equal parts funeral and party, the wonderful LCD Soundsystem documentary/concert film Shut Up and Play the Hits chronicles for posterity the revered dance band's final concert in front of a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden.” - AV Club

On the 2nd of April 2011, dance band LCD Soundsystem played its final show. Frontman James Murphy had decided to call it quits at the peak of the band's popularity, and to go out with a bang in the biggest concert of its career.

Despite the group having released only three albums, the show sold out instantly and ran for nearly four hours. Directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (No Distance Left to Run) document this once-in-a-lifetime experience while following Murphy as he deals with the consequences of his decision.

“A complex, yet beautifully constructed exploration of legacy, set to some of the most attractive concert footage in recent memory.” - Twitch
