In 1964, author Ken Kesey hired a bus, bought an insane amount of LSD, collected a bunch of likeminded individuals whom he dubbed the 'Merry Pranksters', and proceeded to drive across the United States while filming the entire thing - a bus trip (pun intended) that became one of the most culturally significant journeys in America's history.
Forty-seven years on and Oscar winning filmmaker Alex Gibney has finally edited the resulting footage into a comprehensible whole. Narrated by Stanley Tucci and filled with commentary by those who were actually on board, Magic Trip is a unique insight into the adventure that kickstarted an entire psychedelic movement.
